Dr Amir Tavakoli Taba is an internationally recognised early–mid career researcher and Senior Lecturer in Medical Imaging Science at the University of Sydney, where he also serves as Co-Director of the Medical Image Optimisation and Perception Group (MIOPeG). His work sits at the intersection of diagnostic imaging, medical image optimisation, and human perception, with a strong focus on clinically relevant challenges in cancer diagnosis. Dr Taba has led and contributed to major national and international research programs, securing over $6 million in competitive grant funding. He has authored >65 peer-reviewed publications and has presented his work at major international conferences, including RSNA, ECR, SPIE Medical Imaging, and RANZCR. His research excellence and leadership have been recognised through multiple awards, and he regularly serves as a reviewer for leading journals and funding bodies, including NHMRC, NBCF, ANSTO, and international research councils.
