LEARNING & TEACHING SUMMARy

Amanda teaches across ecology, evolution, physiology, and statistics units. She currently lectures in the 3rd year Animal Ecological Physiology at The University of Sydney, creating material for the reproductive physiology, development, and growth sections of the course, discussing key ecological patterns and processes of physiological responses to environmental change. She has also guest lectured for Biology Interdisciplinary Project and Topics in Australian Marine Science (2021–2023).

 

Amanda has supervised two 1st Class Honours students (2022 and 2023) and two Masters project at The University of Sydney and University of Tasmania. She currently co-supervises three PhD students.

 

During her PhD at Monash University, she contributed to Evolutionary Ecology (as lead demonstrator for two years: 2017-2018), Marine Biology (3rd year for four years: 2015-2018), Research Methods (3rd year demonstrator for three years: 2014-2017), and Masters in Global Challenges and Sustainability degree for two years (2017-2018). She also assisted with coordinating the Marine Biology week-long field course in Queenscliff for four consecutive years (2015–2018).
