DrWartini Ng

Research Fellow in Soil Carbon

Faculty of Science

RESEARCH INTERESTs

Dr Ng's research interest has been on designing the combination of measurement and modelling approaches to solve agriculture and environment problems. She utilized proximal sensing technologies, including mid-infrared and near-infrared spectroscopy for rapid acquisition of soil properties and potential determination or identification soil contamination, such as petroleum hydrocarbons and microplastics. She also has an interest in understanding how soil varies in space and time using digital soil mapping. Internationally, she collaborates with colleagues in USA, Brazil, France, Indonesia and Korea.

Dr Ng's research aligns with the Faculty of Science Research Strengths - Understanding Our Planet, Understanding Life on Earth, Precision and Digital Health, Preventing and Treating Disease & Disorder, Food Security, Healthy Ecosystems, Decision-Making for a Sustainable Future, Climate and Environmental Change, Data and Decisions, Earth and Space Exploration and Technologies, Net Zero Technologies, Future Foods.
