RESEARCH INTERESTs

Together with colleagues, postgraduate and undergraduate students, I have investigated diverse topics including ecological impacts of fire and smoke on plant and animal populations through to the implications of fire management decisions on whole landscapes.

My research team is actively researching in the areas of growth and functioning of native grasses, resilience of remnant patches of native vegetation, and flammability of forest and peri-urban vegetation. I am tremendously proud to be doing research delving into respectful consideration of Indigenous knowledges in undergraduate teaching of science and management of water catchments. I have also published and supervised postgraduate students in food safety, mushroom culture, urban trees, and parasitic plants.
