BIO
I am a Senior Lecturer in Architectural Science and Director of the IEQ+ Lab. My research sits at the intersection of human physiology, building performance, and data science; investigating how the indoor environment shapes occupant health, comfort, and wellbeing.
My work spans thermal comfort, indoor air quality, post-occupancy evaluation, and the design of sensing and monitoring systems for buildings. I apply statistical modelling, machine learning, and large-scale field data to understand how people experience and respond to their environments, with a focus on making buildings more comfortable, healthy, and equitable.
I have worked extensively with industry partners including HVAC equipment manufcturers, building product supplies, commercial property owners, and Fortune 500 comapnies to improve indoor environments. I hold research affiliations with UC Berkeley's Center for the Built Environment and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at National University of Singapore. I currently chair ASHRAE Technical Committee 2.1 on Physiology and Human Environment and serve on the editorial board of Buildings and Cities. I am actively supervising HDR students and welcomes enquiries from prospective PhD candidates, research collaborators, and industry partners.
