BIO

BAppSc(SpPath)(Hons1), PhD 

 

Sophie is a lecturer in the Discipline of Speech Pathology. She is a certified practicing speech pathologist with experience in assessment and management of adults with swallowing and communication difficulties. Her main teaching role is as a professional practice educator for students undertaking speech pathology placements.

 

Sophie completed her PhD at the University of Sydney within the ABI Communication Lab. Her thesis explored the use of virtual reality in rehabilitation for cognitive-communication disorders following traumatic brain injury.

 

Prior to joining the University of Sydney, Sophie worked as a speech pathologist in the public health system and as a research assistant on projects relating to communication recovery following traumatic brain injury.
