Dr Shaun Halovic completed his PhD in 2010 where he researched the influence of adaptation aftereffects on the perception of emotions displayed through walking style. After years of teaching at Western Sydney University, he took up a research position at the Westmead Psychotherapy Program, operating out of Cumberland Hospital in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). He is now the Clinical Research Coordinator for the Westmead Psychotherapy Program, and he has also served on the WSLHD Ethics committee and the Scientific Advisory Committee since 2016. Dr Halovic has been affiliated with the University of Sydney as a Clinical Lecturer since 2014 and then as a Senior Clinical Lecturer since 2021. He is currently involved in a variety of research endeavours. He continues his doctoral research on the psychophysics for non-verbal indicators of expressed emotions. He continues research on the process and efficacy of Conversational Model Therapy (CMT) and the development of psychotherapist expertise. More recently, he has been awarded a grant to fund research on the non-verbal communication between client and therapist within CMT.
