RESEARCH INTERESTs

Shane's academic background is in theology and ethics, and he is interested in the experiences of people marginalised by religion, especially queer individuals in the context of conservative Christianity. After sustaining a spinal cord injury in 2010, he redirected his research to explore the happiness and well-being of individuals with the injury, as well as the broader flourishing of people with disability. Currently, he is researching the distinction between disability lived experience and disability lived expertise, as well as the contributions of people with disabilities to organisational governance and leadership.
