Scott has lectured on Russian music history for two decades, and has a particular interest in the life and music of Sergei Rachmaninoff. The central repository of his Rachmaninoff research is the Performance Diary (https://www.rachmaninoffdiary.com), which contains details of every concert and recording the pianist is known to have undertaken. Scott's academic research is supported by his work as a concert pianist.
