She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) and PhD from the University of Sydney and was a Fulbright Scholar at the National Institutes of Health (USA).

Her work has examined calcium-dependent mechanisms that influence cancer cell behaviour, survival and progression, with the aim of identifying novel therapeutic targets. She has published extensively in leading peer-reviewed journals, e.g. Cell, Oncogene, Cancer Res, Nature Reviews Cancer, Communications Biology, and has a strong track record of securing competitive research funding, e.g. NHMRC, ARC.
Sarah has supervised and mentored higher degree research (HDR) students and early-career researchers across her academic career, contributing to the development of researchers working at the interface of pharmacy, biomedical science and cancer biology. She has held senior academic leadership roles at School, Faculty and University levels, and currently serves as Chair of the Australian Pharmacy Council.
