Samantha Fraser-Bell is aProfessor in the discipline of Ophthalmologyat the University of Sydney. She also consults at Sydney Eye Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital.

After subspecialty training in Medical Retina and Uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London UK, she was appointed as a consultant Medical Retina specialist at Sydney Eye Hospital and Medical Retina/Uveitis specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital.Samantha attained her PhD from the University of Sydney in Macula diseases following research at the Doheny Eye Institute, University of Southern California, LA, USA and the Blue Mountains Eye Study and continues to be actively involved inclinicalresearch. Sheruns a weekly research clinic at the Sydney Eye Hospital and the Macula Research Unit, Save Sight institute where she is Deputy Director ofClinicalTrials. Other significant positions held include: Medical Retina Subeditor,Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology; Member Macula Society; co-Director of Sydney Eye Hospital Medical Retina Fellowship program and Scientific Programme Committee member for the annual RANZCO congress from 2008-2019.
