BIO
Bob Cumming studied medicine at UNSW and then trained as an epidemiologist at Columbia University in New York and at the University of Sydney. He has worked at the University of Sydney since 1990. He conducts research on ageing and ageing-related diseases, including dementia, eye diseases, falls, frailty and osteoporosis. He led the Concord Health and Ageing in Men Project (CHAMP), one of the world's largest and most comprehensive studies of older men. Bob was Chair of the National Dementia Guidelines Committee for the NHMRC Cognitive Decline Partnership Centre in 2014-2015.
Bob was Director of the Master of International Public Health program at the University of Sydney from 2009 to 2017 and has contributed to research projects on the health of older people in Iran, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Uganda and Vietnam.
