RESEARCH INTERESTs

My main research interest is nutrition, gut health and intestinal physiology. I am particularly interested in innovative approaches to improve intestinal barrier function in poultry as a novel frontier to promote resilience to stress and enteric diseases and ultimately improving performance, health, and productivity of meat and egg-producing birds. My research uses a wide range of assays and methods to study intestinal permeability, assess intestinal integrity and quantify host-gene expression in response to various dietary interventions, stress or enteric disorders. Through a collaborative network, I am also interested in gut microbiota and metabolites to find answers for research questions revolving around the interaction of gut health and nutrition.
