BIO

Dr Rebecca Scott Bray is a socio-legal researcher and criminologist whose research focuses on issues around death and the dead in law and society. She has particular interests in death investigation and death review, focusing on coronial law and practice and child death review, and cultural practices such as death-related art and media.

Rebecca researches and teaches in the areas of socio-legal death studies, medico-legal and forensic criminology, forensic thanatology, digital criminology and advanced socio-legal/ criminology theory and research methods. Prior to her appointment at The University of Sydney, Rebecca was a Research Officer at the Victorian Coroner's Office. Rebecca was Director of the Sydney Institute of Criminology, Sydney Law School, from 2012-2016.
