Rakhee Raghunandan (BPharm, PGDipClinPharm, MPH, PhD) is a lecturer in health economics and early career research fellow at the Leeder Centre for Health Policy, Economics and Data within the School of Public Health at the University of Sydney. Her research focuses on health services research and applied health economics methods to inform decision making.
Current research includes evaluating tools used to value health changes in paediatric populations, choice experiments (discrete choice and best-worst scaling to elicit patient and clinician preferences, and economic evaluations.
Rakhee completed her PhD (2021) at the University of Otago in New Zealand (NZ) focusing on pharmacy practice research. Her thesis utilised discrete choice experiments and pharmacoepidemiologic approaches to examine pharmacist prescribing in primary care in NZ. Prior to engaging in research and health economics, Rakhee trained as a pharmacist at the School of Pharmacy at the University of Otago. She is a practising pharmacist and has worked as a community pharmacist in NZ and the UK. She has also worked as a clinical editor for the NZ Formulary, which is a national online resource providing medicines information and best practice guidance for health professionals in NZ.
