Dr Rebecca Simpson is Cancer Insitute NSW Early Career Fellow and Group Lead in the School of Medical Sciences, The University of Sydney. Rebecca completed her PhD at the University of Sydney in 2024, focused on the role of the diet and gut microbiota during immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) immunotherapy for melanoma. Her current research continues to focus on how micorbiome-immune crosstalk shapes anti-tumour immune responses and the development of immune mediated toxicities during ICI immunotherapy with the goal of identifying novel strategies that target this axis to enhance the efficacy and safety of treatment.
