RESEARCH INTERESTs

Peter works mostly in the philosophy of biology and the philosophy of mind, looking especially at the area of intersection between these fields. He also works on pragmatism (especially John Dewey), problems of evidence, and other parts of philosophy of science. He has ongoing collaborative projects with various biologists, including Ben Kerr (evolutionary theory) and David Scheel (octopus behavior).

Peter's research aligns with the Faculty of Science Research Strengths - Brain Behaviour and Cognition, Understanding Life on Earth, Historical and philosophical perspectives.
