BIO
Patrick McMullan is a neurology doctor and Clinical Research Fellow in A/Prof Elie Matar’s Neurodegeneration and Sleep Lab. His research examines delirium as a window into neurodegenerative vulnerability, particularly Lewy body disease. Alongside this empirical work, he is developing an interdisciplinary research direction in philosophy of medicine and mind, with a particular interest in the questions dementia and delirium raise about selfhood, temporality, meaning and care. His broader interests include cognitive and behavioural neurology, neuropsychiatry, and bringing neuroscience, philosophy and lived experience into closer conversation.
