LEARNING & TEACHING SUMMARy

I teach mathematics and statistics primarily in large first-year service courses, supporting students from a wide range of disciplinary and mathematical backgrounds. My teaching focuses on developing strong conceptual understanding, structured problem-solving skills, and confidence in working with mathematical ideas.

I use evidence-based teaching practices, including active learning, diagnostic assessment, and guided reflection, to help students identify gaps in understanding and develop effective learning strategies. A central aim of my teaching is to help students link mathematical concepts to real-world analysis, enabling them to use mathematics as a practical and transferable tool across the sciences.
