LEARNING & TEACHING SUMMARy
He provides dermatology teaching to Sydney Medical School students at Westmead Hospital for both the Westmead and Nepean Clinical Schools, including clinical rotations, lectures, workshops, and clinical tutorials. There is an Elective program for medical students and opportunities for international medical students.
He supervises students in the Sydney Medical School MD program and in the University of Sydney Honours, Master's, and PhD Programs.
He designed the Unit of Study: Essential Dermatology (DERM5001), which is part of several courses at the University of Sydney (Graduate Diplomas, Graduate Certificates, and Master's), and he participates in other Units of Study (AMED3001, AMED3888, SEXH5200).
He teaches dermatology registrars and unaccredited trainees during their appointments at Westmead Hospital.
He has established two international programs:
- Onco-Dermatology Fellow position (1-year program) for overseas dermatologists to enhance their knowledge and skills to diagnose and manage all types of skin cancers and the cutaneous effects of oncology medications.
- Observership (3-month program) for overseas dermatology registrars.
He is interested in providing dermatology knowledge to General Practitioners, other medical specialties, nurses, and the general public, and has collaborated in multiple meetings and lectures.
His other main teaching topics are Research Methodology and Planning Research Projects, and he has lectured on Methodology, Project Design, Ethics, Writing and Publishing Papers, etc., both locally and internationally.
