Orin is the program director for the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Development programs, based in the Sydney Pharmacy School at the University of Sydney. She is also a regulatory affairs consultant, and an adjunct Associate Professor at UNSW Sydney. Orin was co-chair of the Cell and Gene Catalyst Expert working Group on workforce Development. She is a member of the Board of the Association of Graduate Regulatory Educators (AGRE, USA) and is on the editorial advisory committee of the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS, USA). Orin received the Organisation for Professionals in Regulatory Affairs (TOPRA, UK) award for excellence in regulatory education in 2017 and became a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) in 2018 in recognition of her expertise in regulatory education. She was awarded a Fellow of RAPS in 2021 in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the regulatory affairs profession. She was awarded a Fellow of ARCS/LifeSciences Australia in 2025 (Fellow Medtech and Pharma Professionals). She has a BSc (Hons) degree in biochemistry and a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Sydney and a Graduate Certificate in University Learning and Teaching from UNSW Sydney. Orin conducts research in regulatory science, pharmaceutical policy, horizon scanning and capacity-building in the pharmaceutical and medical technology ecosystem.
