DrMinna Paltiel

Dr Minna Paltiel is a research fellow at the Sydney School of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health. Minna’s research focusses on privacy protection of health data and, in particular genomic data, and on cross-jurisdictional sharing and processing of health data. She has presented at conferences on international data sharing and on secondary uses of health data, and has published papers including on privacy protection of health data and on ethics in information sciences training. Minna is a member of the Health Law and Emerging Technologies centre (HeLEX) at Melbourne Law School. She is also a practising lawyer, advising on privacy and data protection and laws applying to new and emerging technologies, such as AI.

Minna holds a PhD in law (University of Melbourne), a Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) (Monash University), for which she was awarded the Supreme Court Prize, a Masters of Education and Counselling (Hebrew University) and a BA (first class honours) in Psychology from University of Melbourne.
