LEARNING & TEACHING SUMMARy
Michael Kertesz has taught at all undergraduate levels, including Introductory Biology, intermediate Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology, and Population Ecology, senior Environmental Microbiology, Environmental Chemistry, Plant-Microbe interactions, Antimicrobial Drug Design, and Soil Biology. At the Masters level he has taught Agricultural Pollution and Bioremediation.
He currently teaches and coordinates an intermediate unit on Microbiology that provides the introduction to Microbiology for all students taking the Microbiology major, and also contributes to senior units on virology (phage biology), and on Cellular and Molecular Microbiology (plant-microbe interactions).
He has supervised and co-supervised over 20 PhD and Masters research students as well as scores of honours and fourth year student projects. He currently supervises 3 PhD students.
