Professor Melissa Baysari is a human factors researcher, Certified Human Factors and Ergonomics Professional, and leads the Digital Health Human Factors Group in the Sydney Nursing School.

Her research focuses on safety and usability of health technologies, with a particular focus on the design and evaluation of computerised decision support.

Melissa has secured >$35M in research funding as a Chief Investigator, and has published widely in the areas of medication safety, electronic prescribing and decision support. Importantly, her research has resulted in a number of significant changes being made to electronic medical record systems, as well as to hospital policy and work practices. She has many ongoing collaborations with government, industry and health services and all her research projects represent partnerships with healthcare organisations. Melissa also leads the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence on Human Factors and AI-enabled Clinical Decision Support.
