BIO

BSc (UNSW), BOH Adult Scope (USYD), MEd (Higher Ed)(USYD), FHEA

Melinda is an Oral Health Therapist currently working as a Lecturer for the Bachelor of Oral Health Program at the Sydney Dental School.

Mel graduated from Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH) at The University of Sydney in 2011 and has since been working as an Oral Health Therapist in private practice. Prior to BOH, Mel began her dental journey working as a dental assistant in high school and during her studies at the University of New South Wales where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2004.

Mel joined the Sydney Dental School in 2015 as a casual clinical educator in both tooth conservation and periodontics with BOH and periodontics simulation clinics with DMD. She completed a Master of Education (Higher Education) in 2019 developing an interactive rubric application that was used in the BOH tooth conservation simulation clinics.

In 2023 she joined the BOH team at USYD as an education focused lecturer and was accepted as a Fellow in the Higher Education Academy in 2025. With her experience in clinical practice together with studying and working in education, Mel has a passion for creating interactive and engaging learning environments for all her students.
