LEARNING & TEACHING SUMMARy

Melanie teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Sydney. She has experience teaching Pathology (systems pathogenesis, histopathology, anatomical pathology and chemical pathology) and Biochemistry (proteomics, protein-protein interactions, cardiovascular proteomics and validation tools). As the coordinator of a 3rd-year Pathogenesis of Human Disease subject (CPAT3202/3902), Melanie seeks to engage students in active learning environments that are interactive, experiential and authentic to the real world (basic and clinical sciences). Through scenario-based teaching, she takes complex concepts and invites student participation and a human narrative. Her integrated approach to practical learning and student engagement in both synchronous and asynchronous environments has earned recognition from students, peers, and the Higher Education Academy (Fellow, FHEA).
