RESEARCH INTERESTs

Maxim is interested in all aspects of plant-pathogen interactions, including the virulence mechanisms on the pathogen side and resistance mechanisms on the side of the host plant. During his research career, Maxim worked with a wide range of pathogens, including bacteria, fungi, viruses and protists. He has a keen interest in genomics and utilising cutting-edge computational methodologies to understand the virulence mechanisms and tweak the innate plant immunity system to cope with economically important plant diseases.

Maxim's research aligns with the Faculty of Science Research Strength - Understanding Life on Earth.
