BIO

Dr. Matthew Hollings is a Lecturer, Research Fellow and national leader in exercise for individuals with cardiovascular disease. His research aims to improve the quality and individualisation of exercise (sub-specialising in resistance training) after a cardiac hospital admission, particularly for underrepresented groups like older adults, culturally diverse, those with genetic disorders and women.

Dr Hollings is a recognised national leader in cardiovascular health, holding senior roles across the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association. He drives strategic direction in education, policy, and scientific programming, shaping allied health leadership and guiding implementation initiatives across the University of Sydney and major national clinical networks.

Overall, Dr. Hollings has a very pragmatic approach to research and is always seeking to translate his knowledge to the patients and practitioners in the field.
