SERVICE & LEADERSHIP SUMMARy
I am an experienced specialist clinician of 25 years and this places me in a unique position in terms of leadership in the clinic. Whilst officially a member of the senior leadership team of the clinic, much of my leadership is less official and more subtle as I provide support and advice to junior academics and clinicians daily. I am a member of the school curriculum review working group with a focus on case-based learning, medical record keeping and DVM3 2.0 creation and deployment.
I am a member of the board of the Australasian Veterinary Examination. This allows me to contribute more broadly to the veterinary industry and input into the important area of registration of foreign-trained veterinarians.
I am one of a small numer of veterinarians who have launched a new international veterinary endocrinology society (Veterinary Endocrinology in the Pacific and Asia- VESPA) to encompass the pacific and Asia regions. The aim of the society is to promote scientific progress, education, and excellent standards of practice of companion animal and comparative endocrinology in Asian and Pacific countries. I am an education officer in this society which embraces clinicians of all levels and my conference programs have previously highlighted the work of clinicians in developing countries and in countries in which pet ownership is relatively new.
