BIO

Marcelle is a mixed heritage First Nations woman of Biripi, Worimi and Irish decent. She is Senior Lecturer (Teaching and Research) for the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney based at the University Centre for Rural Health, Northern Rivers. Marcelle has taught First Nations Studies in higher education for over 25 years across many disciplines. She holds a Master of Education (2009) and a PhD (2018) from the University of Technology Sydney. Her PhD research considered the complexities, opportunities, challenges and risks of a range of critical pedagogical approaches to teaching First Nations studies in higher education.
