BIO

Dr. Manuel Lequerica Tamara is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Sydney specializing in urban ecology and biodiversity conservation. His research examines how insect communities and plant-pollinator interactions respond to urbanization, contributing to our understanding of urban biodiversity.

Following undergraduate studies at Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia), he completed a Master of Agriculture, a Master of Science, and a PhD in Urban Ecology at the University of Sydney. His professional experience includes ecological consulting, providing biodiversity assessments and environmental management advice to government authorities and industry.

Manuel currently co-develops the WILD2001 Measuring Biodiversity unit and maintains active research collaborations with the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (USA) and Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia), studying both Australian urban ecosystems and Colombian forest ecology.
