B. Eng Hons (Adelaide) Ph.D (Sydney)

Dr. Mahendra Piraveenan completed his Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Systems) degree with first class honours at the University of Adelaide. After a short stint in the industry working as a software engineer, he completed his Ph.D at the School of Information Technoloies, The University of Sydney, in the area of complex network analysis, in 2010. He was appointed an academic at the University of Sydney in the following year.

Dr. Piraveenan's current research interests include vacccination uptake modelling and infectious disease dynamics modelling in social systems, topological analysis of complex networks, bounded rationality in game theory, networked game theory, and interfirm network modelling and analysis. He teaches units at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels which are in the area of complex systems, modelling and simulation, and he supervises Higher Degree by Research (M.Phil, Ph.D) students in his areas of research interest.
