I was an Editor for the Australian Occupational Therapy Journal (2000-2011), where I used research methods to enhance the review process to improve the rigour of submitted manuscripts. I was the Chief Editor for the Occupational Therapy International Journal (2019-2021) after being an associate editor (2016-2019), and have appointed associate editors, made editorial decisions, and promoted the journal. I was an elected Board member of Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) (2017-2020), where I was responsible for convening the Reconciliation Action Plan development group consisting of both indigenous and non indigenous OTA members, and developing a national reconciliation policy for OTA that has culminated in the drafting of the Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan. I was elected as the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT) Australian
delegate (2017-2020) where I have promoted my discipline at an international level, and co-led the research program for WFOT and in this role undertook an international project to determine research priorities for WFOT with international partners. I have been the vice president of the Asia Pacific OT Regional Group of WFOT and supported the OT Association of the Philippines and the Japanese Association of OT to host Asia Pacific conferences in 2020 and 2024. I was elected to the WFOT research role in 2022 and then to the WFOT Board research position until 2026.
