Project Opportunities

Title: Morse Stratification

Summary of opportunity:

Looks at ways of stratifying varieties and classifying singularities

Opportunity synopsis:

A very important topic in mathematics is to analyse and clasify singularities of analytic functions and of analytic varieties.

We are going to investigate the role of Morse Stability in the study of singularities.

Project Opportunities

Title: Singularity Theory

Summary of opportunity:

Bi-Lipschitz equisingularity

Opportunity synopsis:

To understand when analytic families of functions are bi-Lipscitz trivial.

Project Opportunities

Title: Lipschitz Geometry

Summary of opportunity:

We investigate the behaviour of the associated Directional Bundle, or Generalised Directional Bundle and their invariance under bi-Lipschitz homeomorphisms.

The project is available for both PhD and MPhil.

Additional supervisor: Daniel Daners

Opportunity synopsis:

We will develop elementary tools to investigate the behaviour of important geometric concepts under bi-Lipschitz homeomorphisms and, consequently, try to apply to algebraic geometry.
