BIO

Dr. Kiplin Patanwala received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, U.S. She is an experienced hospital pharmacist and has worked at the University of Chicago hospital (Chicago) and Carondelet St. Joseph's hospital (Tucson) with 15 years of clinical service overall. During this time, she led the anticoagulation pharmacy service and supervised Doctor of Pharmacy students on clinical placements. She also has a graduate certificate in teaching and learning from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In her current role as Associate Lecturer, she coordinates the Cardiovascular and Renal (6 credits), and Diabetes Mellitus (6 credits) units of study in the Graduate Certificate Program. She also coordinates the Musculoskeletal, Dermatological and Senses (6 credits) for the new Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Master of Pharmacy Practice and Dispensing for Masters of Pharmacy Practice (6 credits). Through collaborations with other faculty members, she has designed and updated course curricula and assessments, ensuring alignment with academic standards, industry trends, and institutional goals. Her teaching encompasses several units of study at the Sydney Pharmacy School, including Dispensing, Compounding, Counselling, and Therapeutics.
