ProfessorKim Rasmussen

Professor kim Rasmussen has held numerous leadership roles over the last 25 years; as Chairman of the Centre for Advanced Structural Engineering, Head of School, Associate Dean Research, first Chief Investigator on 13 ARC Discovery and Linkage Projects, and chairman of Standards Australia committees. He has also extensive leadership experience in mentoring early- and mid-career researchers, including postdocs, from his roles as Head of School and leader of the Structures Group at the University of Sydney. 

He is a regular keynote speaker at all major conferences in his field and serves on the advisory committees of most of these conferences. He has supervised 40+ PhD students to completion.

Kim Rasmussen is an active consultant to industry with expertise in steel structures, cold-formed steel structures, stainless steel structures and aluminium structures, including scaffolding and steels storage racking structures. He has published more than 80 reports on investigations for industry.
