RESEARCH INTERESTs
Dr. Justin Wong has a very strong interest in gene expression regulation. Having completed his PhD with high profile papers related to germline epimutation and cancers (New England Journal of Medicine, Cancer Cell, Gut), he has studied the role of non-coding RNA, RNA modifications and alternative splicing in normal physiology and disease. His current research topics are:
1. The mechanisms of intron retention in the development of white blood cells (Follow-up of his paper in Cell, Nature Communications, Nucleic Acids Research, Immunology).
2. The role of intron retention in acute myeloid leukaemia.
3. The role of RNA modification in white blood cell differentiation and cancer.
4. The role of RNA modification in macrophage development and function.
5. The role of RNA modification in smooth muscle cell plasticity.
