BIO

Julia Russoniello is a lecturer in musicology and a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Sydney. She holds a PhD from the University of Sydney and is an accomplished historical violinist, performing with many of Australia's leading historical performance ensembles. Her research investigates Australian musical cultures and historical performance practices, with a particular focus on narratives of innovation and exchange. As a contributor to the Australian Research Council Discovery Project Hearing the Music of Early New South Wales, Julia has contributed publications and presented scholarly performances at iconic venues including Elizabeth Bay House, Government House, The Macquarie Arms Hotel, and the State Library of New South Wales.
