GradDipVisArts (SCA)

Joyce Hinterding is an artist recognised internationally for her work across sculpture, object arts, sound art and digital arts. Her practice is internationally renowned for explorations into energetic forces and energy scavenging through custom-built field recording and monitoring technologies. In 2019, Joyce received the Australia Council Emerging & Experimental Arts Award.Her research covers a broad spectrum of fields including, energy, acoustics, electronics, alchemy and this finds expression through digital and analogue processes, including drawing, stencilling, interactive real-time environments,3D computer graphics, sound and video art. She often collaborates with artist David Haines to produce large-scale immersive digital environments video and sound works which received the Award of Distinction at Prix Ars Electronica in the hybrid arts category (2015). Her work is currently included on the NSW HSC Art Curricula, and she is represented by Sarah Cottier Gallery, Sydney, and her recorded audio work has been released by Antiopic NYC and Sigma Editions.
