SERVICE & LEADERSHIP SUMMARy
Jeff is part of the leadership team at the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre (SSEAC) through his role as Indonesia Country Convenor, maintaining an Indonesia-focused academic network at the University, developing the SSEAC strategic plan, frequently organising and attending SSEAC engagement events, and liaising with Indonesian students Associations. He is regularly involving in external engagement with delegations of university leaders and politicians from Southeast Asia, with local consulates and embassies, and with DFAT and ASEAN.
He actively engages in policy debates with external organisations, including coffee and cocoa industry stakeholders across Australia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Timor Leste, along with a range of government agencies and development organisations (including the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank). He has worked with certification and standards organisations to improve their understanding of the impacts of their programs on the livelihoods of smallholder households.
