Dr. Hamideh Khaleghi Mohammadi is currently a Lecturer in Media and Communications at the University of Sydney, where she teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate units, including Online Journalism (MECO6925) and Introduction to Media Production (MECO1004). Her role involves significant curriculum development, including the redesign of unit content on Canvas and the integration of newsroom simulations within the Media Lab project. She has taken the initiative to streamline learning outcomes, enhance digital teaching materials, and support tutor coordination across multiple offerings. Her responsibilities extend beyond teaching to include active contributions to school governance, mentoring early-career tutors, and fostering student engagement through innovative media education practices.
Prior to her academic appointment, Dr. Khaleghi Mohammadi served as the PR Manager and Advertising Director at Vira Company in Tehran from 2015 to 2024. In this role, she led the strategic planning and execution of public relations and advertising campaigns across commercial, cultural, and social sectors. She was responsible for crafting integrated media strategies, managing internal and external communications, and supervising creative direction for multi-platform campaigns. Her leadership in this position resulted in enhanced brand visibility, successful stakeholder engagement, and the implementation of sustainable media outreach practices. Dr. Mohammadi’s industry experience continues to inform her teaching and research, bridging practical knowledge with scholarly inquiry in digital communication and platform studies.
