ProfessorGrahame Simpson

Professor Simpson undertakes service and leadership roles within the Univesity, his discipline and his field at national and international levels.

At the University he is a member of one the Human Research Ethics Committees (2022-current). 

In relation to his field, he is current Co-Chief Editor of Brain Impairment, official journal of the Australasian Society for the Study of Brain Impairment (2016-current) and Editorial Board member, Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation (Q! journal, 2012-current), the leading specialty journal within the field. He was appointed member of the Board of Governors of the International Brain Injury Association in 2025.

In his discipline, Professor Simpson was previous Editorial Board member for Australian Social Work (2010-2019), the official journal of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and a Q1 journal. He was also member (2008-2012) and Chair (2013-2017) of the AASW National Research Committee. Professor Simpson was a founding member of the AASW Social Workers in Brain Injury Special Interest group (1995-current) and founding co-convenor, International Network of Social Workers in Acquired Brain Injury (2006-current) which has over 160 members from 9 countries.
