My research focuses on improving outcomes for people with musculoskeletal conditions by conducting high-quality trials testing pharmacological, surgical, and conservative interventions in various settings.

I have a keen interest in bringing a precision medicine approach to pain research to ensure that treatments are better matched to the needs of individual patients by investigating promising biomarkers that predict treatment success for and by embedding these biomarkers in existing and future trials. 

My work also focuses on developing models of care to improve service delivery for people with musculoskeletal conditions who struggle to receive high-value and coordinated healthcare. I have co-designed/am currently co-designing models of care to improve outcomes for people with chronic pain after surgery (total knee replacemet and spinal surgery) as well as to improve the appropriateness of surgical referrals for spinal surgery.
