Associate ProfessorFreda Passam

Associate Professor Freda Passam has mentored undergraduate students, postgraduate students and advanced trainees in Haematology for more than 10 years.

Freda teaches Haematology and Medicine within the curriculum of Medicine, University of Sydney. This includes bedside tutorials, large group tutorials, and online modules.

She is supervisor of MD Research projects and MD student engagement in Haematology research activities. Many medical trainees have valued the combined clinical/research approach to medicine and have become visiting scientists in the Haematology Research lab.

Freda has built a strong mentorship and guidance platform for research students throughout their candidature, enabling them to move into future careers in Academic Haematology. Research students and trainees are coached in research and teaching, with many of them taking up Haemostasis & Thrombosis research and teaching roles. Her teaching program is adapted and enriched based on student feedback and communication of their learning needs and priorities.
