Research projects & supervision summary
Global Framework for Workfore Training in Integrated Care
I lead a world-first program of research in the development of curriculum for the education of health professionals in integrated care. This research is carried out in partnership with the International Foundation for Integrated Care and includes the development of a Global Framework for Workforce Development in Integrated Care, which I co-designed with 21 international experts and published in the International Journal of Integrated Care (IJIC). This Framework has been embedded in curricula across multiple universities and informs authentic, inclusive, and community-engaged learning activities.
As a passionate advocate for Integrated Care, I am active in advancing recognition and the foundational knowledge in this new discipline. I have been appointed as a Senior Associate for the International Foundation of Integrated Care (IFIC) where I will work with the Foundation and others to promote integrated care policy and practice and support others in workforce training and curriculum development.
Research Lead - virtual reality-based training platform for pharmacy students
I lead interdisciplinary research projects that translate integrated care principles into practice. As Lead Investigator, I secured an $80,000 DVCR Strategic Research Impact Fund Grant for a virtual reality-based training platform for pharmacy students and pharmacists in rural hospital settings. This project involves collaboration with:
- Senior pharmacists across Australia
- National pharmacy bodies
- Universities and regional hospitals
I also led a national marketing analysis and a scoping review as part of this grant.
Electronic Prescribing in Rural Settings
I have supervised multiple USYD MD students as well as a Pharmacy Honours student project where we looked at stakeholder perspectives of using electronic prescribing in rural settings. Stakeholders included General Practitioners, Community Pharmacists as well as consumers.
