RESEARCH INTERESTs

Dr Eliane Deschrijver works in social neuroscience, and social and experimental psychology. She focusses mainly on how the brain processes social differences, such as between ways of thinking about the world, or those that come about randomly. Her theoretical framework can help comprehend why humans discriminate against different others. Dr Deschrijver has also published on automatic imitation, predictive coding, illusory self superiority bias, measurement issues in psychological science and gender backlash in academia. Her research aligns with the Faculty of Science Research Strengths - Brain Behaviour and Cognition, Understanding Disease & Disorder in Humans.
