RESEARCH INTERESTs

Professor Templeton's research interests focus on HIV and STI epidemiology, prevention of HIV, and improving the health of those living with HIV. He has been Chair of the Steering Committee for the Australian HIV Observational Database since 2015. Over the past 15 years, his research focus was the Study for the Prevention of Anal cancer (SPANC) investigating the natural history of anal human papillomavirus infection and pre-cancerous anal lesions in gay men in an effort to prevent anal cancer in this population.He has also more recently played a leading/supervisory role in research on acute adult sexual assault.
