DrDavid Primrose

David Primrose is Lecturer in Health Policy and Planning in the Leeder Centre for Health Policy, Economics and Data, where he is also course coordinator for the Master of Health Policy and Planning.

David is passionate about pedagogy and the welfare of his students, and has received multiple teaching awards - including the 2025 SUPRA Teacher of the Year Prize (Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine and Health).

David's research centres on the political economy of health policy, with particular expertise on depoliticisation and the post-politics of public health, malnutrition and food systems in contemporary global capitalism, health inequity and inequality, neoliberalism and ideology critique, planetary health, workplace health and safety, critical pedagogy, and critical political economic theories of health.
