I enjoy PhD supervision as a means of teaching my skills in mathematical modelling and simulation to the next generation of researchers. My projects always have a significant mathematical content, and this can lead to me being a principal supervisor or acting as an associate supervisor in which the research student spends a portion of their time doing modelling work. My former PhD students have gone on to academic positions in Australia, China, India, Saudi Arabia, the UK and France, as well as into senior research and management positions. Many are still active in the field of Computational Fluid Mechanics.
