BIO
Dr Catherine Viengkham (BPsych(Hons), PhD) is a postdoctoral Research Fellow working within the Sydney Nursing School. She completed her PhD at the University of New South Wales, where she specialised in aesthetic processing and visual perception. Her research focused on the determinants of aesthetic preferences, examining the factors that drive individual differences in these preferences, such as personality, visual sensitivitiy, sensory modality and the presence of neuroatypical traits.
Dr Viengkham joined Sydney Nursing School at the University of Sydney in 2022, where she worked with Professor Ramon Shaban and his team as a research administration officer. Later that year, she was appointed to a full-time academic position. Here, her research combines her expertise and background in psychology with the fields nursing, healthcare practice, communicable disease and infection prevention and control.
Dr Viengkham is a member of Sydney Infectious Diseases Institute (Sydney ID).
